Our methods and inspiration spring from the warm rainforests and tropical coastal areas of Sierra Leone and Nigeria. The spirit of the tropics is distilled into every bottle of MON-YÉ Vodka.

Our fermentation and distillation process allows fewer impurities than mainstream vodkas. Rather than extracting and processing sugars from potatoes, corn and grains, we begin with pure cane sugar.  This technique produces far fewer impurities than traditional methods, which require more processing and additives. In its final stages, MON-YÉ Vodka is infused with natural coconut water.

INSPIRED ORIGINS

MON-YÉ Vodka was founded by Dr. Gbessay Bockai and Dr. Leslie Monye, who met and became friends during their studies at Howard University in the late 2000s. MON-YÉ Vodka embodies their shared passion for unique flavors and refined experiences. 

Gbessay and Leslie love meeting people from all walks of life — finding unity while celebrating diversity. Through these shared perspectives, Leslie and Gbessay conceived a vision for a new vodka. 

As first-generation Sierra Leonean and Nigerian Americans, their quest for the purest and most flavorful vodka experience took them back to their roots. The natural abundance of Sierra Leone and Nigeria, where they harness the purest cane sugar to create this top-shelf vodka.
